The other one

I'm trying to work out how to get The Addition going. It's not working out as i had hoped  =(

Although I know people go there i can't find away to get it going. I know neither Brutus or i have written much in the actual blog department, but for me that is not the main part of the site, it's more like a side note book, or something. What i really want is the Forum and the Chat,  i want it to be a Community.

I'm still working on getting a better chat going, in the mean while i've added another temporary one called A different Chat. This one is better than the first one, but as i said i'm looking for a better one. I really want the forum going. I know many are on FetLife and maybe some of you on The Submissive Guide. I have an account on FL myself although it's been very long since i used it (don't ask me why). These places have very good forums, but i wanted one for all my Blogger friends here to have a place where we know eachother (that don't mean it to be exclusive to!), and maybe foremost a place where people who do ttwd but don't really see themselves as Kinksters and maybe don't feel comfortable on places like FL and the likes.

I just don't know how to make the place come alive.
I'm actually fairly satisfied with the way it's "built", of course improvements are always desired and worked towards, but i simply don't know how to make it into a place where people want to be.

So i guess you all know what question comes next;

What can i do?

What would make you want to keep coming back, to have it as a regular place to "hang out"?

How can i "put it out there" so that people knows it exists?

I've worked hard on building the site, and i'll continue to work hard on it, if only i can get some people to actually use it  =(

If it was to be worth it i could even go "Pro" to get added features, but i don't want to sit pay for something that is just a black hole in the internet-sphere.

So, anyone willing to help?

Any suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated!

With love,

Perhaps when you leave a comment on someones blog could you provide a link at the bottom of your comment, ask perhaps your followers if they would be happy to provide a link on the side of their blog...i would be happy to do that but i dont have a clue how to go about it...im not great with computers.

Perhaps giving a time that people could meet up to chat (taking into account time differences) i have popped in myself but been alone.

It would be nice to see it take off as i think as much as it is nice to interact via blogs it would be even nicer to have somewhere to actually have a conversation.

anyway just some ideas.

Melinda, I would enjoy a forum or chat time. I think its an excellent idea :) I don't know my time zone though (ie plus or minus) but I am on the East Coast of the USA.

I've been in other forums (vanilla) where people had a common interest. (Raw food forum and australian expats) One was very successful - the Aussie one. The other one wasn't because people tended to think if they stopped eating raw food they couldn't continue to chat or they felt somehow they had "failed" the group, which no one felt of course, but other people would feel that way.

My point is...with D/s, TTWD, it is a way of life. Sort of like being your nationality. It is WHO YOU ARE...so I think once you get if off the ground, it will be come successful!

There might always be people that are more active than others, but making newcomers feel welcome is helpful, which I am sure you will do. Sort of like blogging...lurkers and then finally people start to feel confident enough to speak up.

I appreciate all the time it has taken you to put into building a new site. I don't belong to Fet Life. I am not into munches or going out into my community seeking other D/s friends. If I met some locally, that would be fine, but I think from the ones I've seen on FL etc, they are just too kinky for me.

When you follow a blog, you follow it because you can relate to that person. I follow DD blogs even though I am not in that type of relationship, but it is interesting to see that there are more simalarities than differences in TTWD whether it is M/s, D/s, DD etc.

Thanks for taking the time to build your new site. I think the link at the bottom of your posts is a good idea too :)

Fondly, Sky

Thank you Sky for your comment =) It is very encouraging! East coast of US should mean UTC/GMT -4 or -5 (i think?).
I will do my best to get this off the ground and keep it going, i really hope it does =)
